"Deep in his heart, every man wants to be a part of a team that does something great. Just look at the movies men adore. A team comes together to save the world, steal the money, or win the championship. The Lord of the Rings, X-Men, The Matrix, Saving Private Ryan, Oceans Eleven, Remember The Titans… feature a band of brothers who attempt the dangerous, the outrageous, the impossible. Each member of the team has a specialty and makes a vital contribution. A band of brothers. Though he may not realize it, every man longs to be a part of one” (Why Men Hate Church, D. Murrow).

Stand Up! Stand out!

Proudly Declaring the Faith!

Welcome!

Welcome to the Pen-Florida District Mens Ministries page. I am so glad you stopped by. Whether you are a Christian man, a Mens Ministries Director, or a Pastor, we are putting together the relevant resources you need. We are working to provide resources like: daily devotions, quick links to a variety of men’s resources, information on men’s events across the state and so much more. This year’s theme: “Stand Up! Stand Out!” focuses on calling men to stand up for what they believe, stand out from the crowd and become world changers. Mens Ministries in Pen-Florida is on the move and I want to invite you to join with us on the journey.

Daily Devotional

HonorBound Devotion: May 31, 2012

Read Joshua 3:5-6And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” Then Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, “Take up the ark of the covenant and cross over before the people.” So they took up the ark of the covenant and went before the people. (NKJV)

Thursdays with Joshua

Joshua’s command to the people is one we often fail to consider. Yes, God would do amazing things for Israel as they took possession of their Promised Land. But, Israel had to be prepared. They needed to receive God’s cleansing as preparation for God’s action. Like them, we are often anxious for God to act on our behalf, but how have we prepared our hearts for that action? Wouldn’t confession of sin and a desire to draw close to God be a good way to demonstrate faith in the God we want to act on our behalf? While we wait for God to move in our circumstances, we should give priority to becoming the people He wants us to be. Our faith is seen in how we act toward the God we hope will help us.

Dr. Mike Clarensau serves as Senior Director of the Healthy Church Network of the Assemblies of God.
